That poem was too sweet for those pesky flying rats (jk). But re:#7, I feel ya. I had to dig to find friends who weren't moving away within a year or 2. It takes the time it takes. But once you find your crew(s), the city can really come to life in a whole new way.
Thanks Chris! Ahh, good to know you've used them and liked them. I think for my first year in Paris I'm going to just pay taxes in the US, not France, and will hire them to help me file in both places after my second year. It's all so confusing (and expensive!).
Oh Chris! We used to work together back in the day, when I did PR for Adobe. 2 years ago, I moved to Germany and this... hits. It's "loud" - as the kids say. Living abroad has its highs and lows.
Sorry to switch the subject to taxes but I’ve been suffering for years now looking for a good solution. Are you happy with your linked firm and do you use them for both US and France tax filings?
Hi Ciara! I didn't use them yet, I only had a consultation. They came highly recommended though. I'm still trying to figure it out myself, but I think I'm going to use them for one or both filings this year.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Yann! Yeah, I feel grateful to have found a lot of wonderful friends here (your crew included in that!).
Absolutely wonderful! I'm so confused about all the stuff that goes into moving (Portugal) and haven't even done it yet!
It's a lot to think about! Happy to help you brainstorm. Thank you for reading and commenting, Greg! :)
That was beautiful. I cry for most of those reasons and I don’t even live in Paris! Oh well, I like crying too. Love u ❤️
Thanks Taylor! xoxo ❤️
A wonderfully honest view. Also, I used the same accountants and they have been lifesavers.

Relating to this so hard.
Ahhhhh yes, I know you get it, the ups and downs. ❤️ But so worth it.
