Heading to Mexico City for a year come August, and will travel all ‘round. Enjoyed reading your exploits in Bacalar, and how you circled ‘round to contentment.
Joel, thanks for finding my Substack and reading this most recent piece! I'm always managing to get a little dramatic and then circle back around to contentment. :) Enjoy Mexico this summer!
Very romantic. I'd even say it's a way of life for you that goes beyond the dating aspect of that word. And I admire your courage: in your writing, in your willingness to go places, in the way you continue to hope for the life you want. And more.
I'm sorry for my late reply, but thank you for your kind note, Greg! I do feel courageous. At least I've got that going. And it does seem to be a way of life. Maybe not such a bad one. I think I'm officially giving up on the "wife-and-mom/stepmom" thing I was envisioning for myself in the last few years.
I am! And I'm simply glad I could say something I genuinely meant. In a broader sense, I think people--moreso men--should practice saying kind things without the expectation of a reply. Keep on being awesome, Kristin! :-)

Kristin: Nice meeting you last night, and see you here, there, or somewhere. Safe travels back to Paris.
